5 of our favourite mobile apps for businesses
There are thousands of apps available across several different stores from Apple’s Appstore to the Google Playstore and from the Huawei App Gallery to the Amazon Appstore. We’ve picked a handful of our own favourites for you to try out.
WhatsApp for Business
We started using this a few years back as a way to keep in touch with customers. At the time it was only available on Android devices but it’s now available on the Apple Store.
It works in the same way as the regular WhatsApp but setting up the profile as your business gives a much more professional look and carries the added benefit of being able to keep the two separate. There’s also a handy PC download so you can run it from your desktop as well.
Canva mobile app
We love the full version of Canva, most of the images on our site have been designed using their platform as it’s so simple to use and the results are excellent.
If you’ve not heard of it Canva is a graphic design platform that allows users to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual content. It is available on web and mobile, and integrates millions of images, fonts, templates and illustrations.
The mobile app is a great way of touching up and creating designs on the go. It works in the same simple way as the PC platform and you don’t need to be a computer genius to be able to work it.
Super handy is how we would describe the Pocket app. How many times during your busy working day have you stumbled across an interesting article, but you didn’t have the time to read it right away. Pocket makes it easy yo save articles, videos and anything else you find online, ready for you to peruse at a time that suits you.
When you’re ready to wind down at the end of a busy day, Pocket might be your best friend. Even better, you don’t need an Internet connection to view what you’ve saved. Pocket is simple to use, and best of all, it’s free.
It’s difficult to avoid the leviathan that is Microsoft 365. Re-branded from Office 365, Microsoft is the worlds number one suite of business software and one that most of us on a daily basis.
The mobile app comes with the three most commonly used software apps; Word, Excel and Powerpoint. In addition you also have Access and Publisher as well as our own two favourites, Outlook and OneDrive.
There’s no question that their are cheaper alternatives out their on the market but the stark reality is that none of them are as good as Microsoft. Features can be limited and when they are not always compatible with the formats we have become so accustomed to on our desktop.
There had to be one fun app on the list and, whilst it was a tough decision, Candy Crush gets our vote. Like the very best games it’s simple approach and bright presentation make it a pleasure to play and can be quite addictive.
The levels run into the thousands so it’s unlikely you’ll ever complete the whole game and King, the designers, keep adding knew ones so even if you do you won’t need to wait long for your next fix.
Honorable mentions go to Wordscape, Lords Mobile and Coin Master as other ways to while away the hours.
